We are looking to add member to our team. Vessel Meats is a dynamic, growing business and we are looking for someone who will bring their skill set to the table. What we mean by that is a professional individual who has a well-rounded set of skills that they can use to help grow the business and continue to develop their skill set while bringing their best to the team.

Maybe you are a culinary professional who wants to develop your knife skills, a customer service and detail-oriented person who can learn about and share our products with customers, food production professional who has worked with food safety and understands HACCP. We are looking for a mature positive professional who wants to learn about meat and expand their knowledge.

Perhaps you have worked as a meat cutter somewhere else in the city and want to learn beyond what you can learn with commercial beef?

Our business is a hands-on business, everyone’s role has some involvement with meat production, meat sales and meat packing and traceability. Everyone works customer service and everyone contributes to the delicious things we make every day.

Vessel Meats has been growing every year since we opened here on Primrose and we are looking for people who are interested in what we are doing and want to sharpen their skills.

Skill Sets we are looking for:

-          Butchery experience or experience working around meat

-          Strong customer service experience

-          Other culinary experience and the ability to work quickly and basic understanding of food production

-          HACCP or other food safety plan experience

 

Our non-negotiables include:

-          Tuesday to Saturday work schedule; approximately 40-45 hours per week

-          Mature professional attitude, willingness to learn and provide customer service.

-          Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day, lift 60+ lbs and have full ability to use arms, legs, back and wrists.

-          Willingness to learn from the ground up. (Starting with the basics to understand the foundation so you can build on that knowledge).

-          Desire to learn about our products and share that knowledge with customers.

-          Ability to read and write English.

Pay will be negotiated based on your skill set and we highly encourage you to showcase those skills in your application.

Rate of pay will depend on experience so show us what skills you bring to the table and we are happy to have a discussion.

Pay Range: $16-$22 per hour. Depending on skills and experience. Show us what you bring to the table!

In this position you will learn all about our business from the ground up. You will have to do all the roles, including packaging, making sausages, grinding meat, slicing meat, cutting/packing/selling meat. This is the sort of role that you are going to get what you give. The more you want to learn the more opportunities you will have. Enthusiasm will get you a long way as we prefer to lead the eager student rather then force new things onto people.
